Georgetown: a night parade
The Lions Club of Georgetown organizes and pays for this parade, with help from the Town of Halton Hills. Entries form up on Sinclair Avenue and head west on Guelph Street to Mill Street. They follow Mill Street through the old downtown, turn left on Charles Street, and break up at Georgetown Fairgrounds Park.
Acton: an afternoon parade
The Acton Firefighters' Association runs this one from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It leaves the Acton GO Station parking lot, goes along Mill Street East and Main Street, and ends at Prospect Park. Santa comes last.
Firefighters push grocery carts along the route for non-perishable food and cash for the Acton Food Bank. Canada Post volunteers collect letters to Santa, so add a return address if you want a reply.
